Port MeNicoll by Eileen Hocken Port MecNicoll, Midland, Victoria Harbour and Penetanguishene Lions clubs hosted the annual Lions Club convention in Midland on the weekend. Port McNicoll won first prize for their float in the parade which took place on Saturday. Paul Talbot and Richard Cooper were on the Float Committee - they organized the works though all the Lions helped with the actual labour. The theme for the float was "How We Support Our Com- munity" and this earned them the Annual Trophy. The convention started Friday night with registration (Jim Zummach of Port was Registration Chairm- an). A dance and pin trading followed. This was a chance for everyone to get to know everyone else and find oul what other Lions Clubs are doing. On Saturday was the parade and a wine and cheese party for the ladies. Later that evening, the Governor's Ball took place with a dinner and dance. Sunday was a time for business meetings, everything winding up with luncheon for the Lions Club members.
