Once again Bayview School's Drama Club, "Upstage One' is "Ready To Go". The club will be presenting "'The Wizard of Oz" next week. All performances will be at Bayview. Monday, 26 April, there will be two shows to allow all Bayview students to see the play. Wednesday, and Thursday afternoon shows will be given to visiting schools, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 28, 29 and 30 April at 7:30 p.m. there will be public per- formances. Tickets are available in Midland at Huronia Office Services, Books Unlimited, Field's Hardware, and Perrin's Flower Shop and in Penetang at Gignac's Children's Wear. This is a '"Company" show in which everyone has backstage duties as well as his or her part in the show. Older students are paired with younger ones - Family style - to assist with make-up, check costumes and see to their concerns. April 26-30 is Education Week and all this is in keeping with the theme of Education Week '82 "Growing Together'. Not only are the older students working with the young, but there are also two staff members in the Show. Mrs. Sue Presse plays Aunt Em and Mr. Ray Brien - Uncle Henry. Mrs. Val MacMenemey and Mr. John McCallum are Directors of the com- pany and Mrs. Peggy Dove of Elmvale is the choreographer. Parents are also in- volved doing costuming and publicity. In Val MacMenemey's first year with the Drama Club, she produced The Wizard of Oz. Now, eight years later she is producing a new version of that play. Dorothy is played by Jennifer Giles, a Upstage One's Wizard of Oz ready to go at Bayview newcomer to the Drama Club and her dog Toto is Tammie _ Latondress. The. Line Mam, 1s Andrew MacMenemey, The Scarecrow is Jennifer McCallum and The Lion is played by Brad Taylor. The Wicked Witch is Beth Teskey, Walter Stewart plays The Wizard and Corinne Losch - Nora. The Drama Club in 1981 were invited to an International Festival in Westchester, New York where other competitors were mostly adult Drama Companys from all over the world.
