Student pilots will suffer Dear Editor: Back in March of 1980 your newspaper carried a photograph entitled Wings over Huronia showing some of the pilots who received their awards at the first annual Wings banquet. The picture will probably be the only picture of graduating pilots out of the Huronia Airport due to a decision made by the Huronia Airport Com- mission at its meeting on March 1. The 21 area pilots that supported my ap- plication, along with people wishing to obtain their pilots licence or to rent an airplane might have to look at other airports such as Parry Sound, Barrie and Orillia that provide the approved flying service. As for the tourists that come to see Huronia from the air and the beautiful fall colours - well, maybe the mayor might take them up for a flight! By the way, Airport Commissioner chairman, Bob Sullivan, received his pilots licence at Huronia Airport. I assume that explains his comments "companies contracted under the old terms didn't always look after the airport's in- terests.' An airport is only as good as the service it provides! Signed, --Joe Rzepecki Pilot. Wie need your help Dear Editor: The St. John Ambulance Brigade is Meseetne assistance from the Midland-Penetanguishene communities and surrounding area. The Colgate - Palmolive Company has offered financial assistance to raise funds toward the purchase of a Resusci - anne. This much needed piece of training equipment will be a teaching aid for the many First Aid classes taught in this area. The cost of this equipment is twelve hundred dollars. Brigade members feel confident that with the generous support of the public saving the boxtops and labels for the next few months, the goal will be met. Drop-off boxes will be in most banks and trust companies in the Midland - Penetanguishene communities by March 15 or contact a Brigade That time of the year again member.
