Despite high com- petitive interest rates, the Port MeNicoll Credit Union managed to maintain a 12 per cent annual rate (including life insurance) on loans to members and at the same time, are paying back eight per cent in dividends to members amounting to $183,412. Peter Shirriff (of McCready and Shirriff Chartered Accountants) read the auditor's report and statement of changes in financial position for the year ending December 31, 1981. Art Bell, general manager and treasurer of the Port McNicol] Credit Union, received a good "roasting"? from Dr. Charles Talbot. One of the nicest things said about Art was that 'he has the personality of an untipped waiter", which might give you an idea of the jokes .made about this man. Entertainment for the evening was later provided by Wendy West and Rosemary St. John, two sisters from Hornsby; Ont. The two attractive girls sang a series of popular songs. It was the first time Wendy and Rosemary entertained in this area, but they would certainly receive a very warm welcome should they decide to visit us again.
