The clerk who was roughed up and forced to turn over the money in the store had been talking to her husband on the telephone at the time. According to the husband, "My wife told me she had a customer and told me to stay on the line. She waited on a lady and all of a sudden there was alot of noise at the other end. Then she came back on the line and yelled that she had been robbed and told me to call the police." The robbery is said to have occurred at 6:10 p.m. According to the husband, "'It makes you take stock. I was born and raised in Detroit and was mugged three times while I was growing up...but you don't expect this kind of thing to happen here." New station wagon to be leased = Day pointed out.
