Sonia Penna, owner of the cab, was. also refused a license on the grounds that she was not a resident of the town. The applicants have the opportunity to ap- peal the decision to council. Don Street Council has authorized the executing of contracts for $26,000 worth of sewers to be con- structed on Don Street in Penetanguishene. The water sanitary sewers will run 183 metres west on Don Street from Fuller Avenue, past Mac- donald Road. The cost of the project will be split, with Public Works paying $20,000 and the _ fndustrial Commission picking up the $6,000 remainder. Specifications for the services are to be drawn up by the town. Work will be done by either contractors or _ the Public Works Depart- ment. WES Lise CL Up to $1 million Clerk to arrange to borrow big bucks by Adrienne Graham Gardner Penetanguishene council has authorized the town treasurer to arrange a loan of up to $1 million to meet the current expenditures of the municipality until taxes are collected. In explaining the reasons for the loan, clerk Yvon Gagne pointed out that the amount requested was below the $1.5 million line of credit obtained by the town last year. In actual fact, only $400,000 of this amount was actually borrowed. The one million dollar figure asked for this year is a maximum up to which money can be _ borrowed. Gagne estimates actual loans will be far below this amount. Interim borrowing to cover ex- penses between tax collections is common practise by municipal governments. Accounts Accounts totalling $403,802 were authorized by Penetanguishene council at their Monday night meeting.
