Two Penetanguishene skaters take top spots Draw, Mayor! Penetanguishene Mayor Ron Bellisle reaches into a drum to pick a winner of the Penetanguishene Figure Skating Club's 50-50 Draw Saturday at Penetanguishene Arena. With Mayor Christel Meisinger and Gizelle Cote of the Penetanguishene Figure Skating Club each came up with first- place finishes in the recent Skate Huronia competition at Base Borden. A total of 151 skaters age 6 to 16 from clubs in Penetanguishene, Midland, Barrie, Orillia, Wasaga Beach, Elmvale, Collingwood and nine other clubs from the MHuronia District took part in the event. Other Penetanguis- hene club skaters finishing high in the final placings were Bonita Robitaille (2nd) and Cindy Wright (4th). Midland Figure -- who were being tested for CFSA badges Saturday -- and club president Raymond Gignac. Penetanguishene competitors in the qualifying flights were: Melissa Meisinger (4th), Jackie Arbour (4th), Jenny Cowan (5th), Kimberly Ann Roszmann (6th), Rachel Dupuis (6th), Sherri Arbour (7th), Saundra Lynn Rosz- mann (11th), and Ann Marie Piotrowski (11th). Midland skaters in the qualifying flights were: Michelle Mcllravey (5th), April Adair (7th), Jodie Nagel (8th), Robin Merkley (9th) and Lisa Kinnear (9th). Stoneleigh Midgets come up empty in Huntsville tourney The Midland Stoneleigh Motors Minor Midgets came up empty in two tries at the weekend's Huntsville Arrowhead Midget Hockey Tournament. The Midland squad fell behind early and never recovered in their first matchup against the host club, dropping a 7-2 decision Friday night. The next day, the Sharon Midgets bombed the Stoneleigh squad 10- A. Bill Kennedy ard Marlon Geiseler were the Midland marksmen in the first game, with Mark Degagne and Mike Maglouglin picking up assists. Geiseler scored the lone Stoneleigh goal in the second game, assisted by Jason Baguley.
