It was held at the Anglican Church in Meaford and the reception was at the Meaford Community Centre. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Moir of Willowdale visited on Sunday with the Camerons. Mrs. Harold Smith and Harvey visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Newmarket. Scotrty Smith returned home after spending a week here before' school reopened. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kenwell of Trenton and Mr. and Mrs. Harold wanless of Egbert visited on the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Wanless and family. Mr. and Mrs. John DeGorter left on Wednesday for San Francisco. They are visiting their son and daughter-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Harry DeGorter of Berkeley, California. Harry is studying at the university there. Dr. and Mrs. Paul Denbeigh (nee Elizabeth DeGorter) are home from Calgary, Alta. where they have resided since their marriage three . years ago. - The new Flos W.I. met on Tues. afternoon, Sept. 8 at the home of Mrs. Gerald King of Barrie. Mrs. Jim Kennedy opened the The Library has returned to its regular hours in the Adult and Children's Dept. and the Reference Dept. will be open Monday evening starting Sept. 21. Reference will be open from 10 a.m. - 12.00 noon and 1-5 p.m. every day except Monday. Monday hours will be 1-5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. In the Children's Department: Fall programs are beginning the week of Sept. 21. Story Time for pre-school children will start on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 in the children's library. There will be stories, songs and games for three - four year olds. Family Film Night, which proved to be a great success last year, is back again. Film night begins Friday, Sept. 25 at 7:30 in the children's library which three movies about bears -- Paddington Recommended, Bear Hunt, and Bear Country. The movies are suitable for all ages, and they are free. A list of the fall lineup of films is available in the library. Don't forget the special library program Pierre et le Papillon., a musical concert in French and English for children. The program takes place Friday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in the children's library. All kids are welcome. Mrs. Jim Kenney was named the voting delegate to attend the area convention in Central United Church in Barrie, Ont. 15 and 16. The branch agreed to send two members and several others plan to attend. Out October meeting will be held a week earlier than usual and will be at the Simcoe County Museum on Tues. Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m. Entertaining our Stewart sister branch at the -- Quota approved The Ontario Municipal Board has approved Midland's capital expenditure quota of $320,000 for 1981. However council was cautioned the general approval shouldn't be constituted as approval of any item shown in the town's forecast. November meeting on The Year of the Disabled was discussed. Mrs. Cline Rawn, the convener of Tweed- smuir History who presided for the program, asked everyone to comment on the motto, Remember the past, keep records of the present and dream of the future. Quilt. the history of Mrs. Archie Wanless read an article entitled, The Comeback of the Mrs. Rawn outlined coloured settlers in Oro Township and made special reference to the African church which was recently damaged by vandals. She also talked about the Drury homestead which is at the site of the upsoming International Ploughing Match. Mrs. Kenney then conducted an in- teresting contest on, The Contents of your Purse.
