"Whose Life Is It Anyway?"' stars Don Harron in the role of a talented sculptor who is paralyzed and dependant on life support systems as the result of a car accident. Basically little more than a head, he pleads with his doctors and the hospital staff to turn off the machines and let him die. They refuse--so he sues the hospital. Due to his dependance on the machines, the court must come to the hospital. The scene is played in a small section representing a hospital room in the centre of the Georgian's wide stage. "We're so crowded, I feel right at home."' Holt quips. "Just like Huronia Players."' He is enjoying working with Vernon Chapman, Artistic Director of the Gryphon and Don Harron. Harron has the gift of making everyone feel at ease. He told Holt he has fond memories of Midland and playing in Little Lake Park as a youngster. Another time, "Charlie Farquharson' battled through a snowstorm to attend an autograph party in Huronia Mall. He was amazed by the number of people who attended. Dawn Greenhalg and Claude Bede play doctors and Tommy Lloyd, Artistic Director of Theatre Sudbury, has a cameo role. This is the second time Holt has played with the Gryphon Company. All in all, "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" marks his one hundredth production. "That's going right back to kindergarten in England and counting all manner of involvement from acting to production, directing and backstage work."' Over ninety of the plays have been in been in Canada, most of them with Huronia Players and Midland Secondary School where he is the Theatre Arts teacher. "Whose Life Is It Anyway?"' by Brian Clark and directed by Vernon Chapman will run at the Georgian College Theatre in Barrie until Saturday, Sept. 5.
