Local youth bowling league starts by Dennis Brabant Midland and Penetang Bowling Lanes are gearing up for their 1981-82 Y.B.C. programs with registrations being conducted this weekend. Youths ranging from ages four to 17 are welcome to register in either program for a registration fee of $2.50. Midland will be registering their bowlers on Saturday at Bayshore Lanes from ip.m. to 3p.m. while Penetang registrations will take place on Sunday at Knight Haven Lanes from 1p.m. to 3D.m. Bowlers' will be divided into different age groups as follows - Pee Wees, Bantams, Juniors and Seniors. Bowling will take place on Saturdays from September to April with most age groups bowling 3 games. There could be some possible changes in bowling times depending on the number of registration of "senior" age bowlers. The Y.B.C. program is run nation wide and is well organized on the provincial level. The youth bowlers can earn numerous crests and trophies for their efforts and bowl in seven "'in house' tournaments Tryouts In recent years North Simcoe in general and Midland in particular has developed a number of very competitive volleyball teams. At present those teams are looking for new talent. Tryouts for the women's teams, the Malibus and the Double Blues and Here's Lookin Atcha are set for Midland YMCA on Monday, Sept. 14 and again on the 16th from 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. For more information get in touch with Sue Presse al 526-4997.
