Midland Indusmin Bantams Baseball Team in doubling the score on visiting Harrow Blues, Sunday evening, 10-5, paved the way for Midland to head into the All-Ontario OBA finals...something a Midland club has never done in this division. Indusmin bounced back from a 5-4 defeat earlier in the day to take the best of three series 2-1. From the opening inning shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Tiffin Park everyone at the park knew it was going to be Midland all the way. Steve Courtemanche scored after he was brought around the bases by a Keith Proulx single and a sacrifice fly by Mike Gadsby. Midland made it 2-0 during the bottom of the third inning after Gadsby walked and Gerry Woods singled. Midland's best inning was the fourth frame Indusminsky-rockets into All-Ontario finals when David Sibley singled, Scott Lafreniere walked, "'Cooty" singled, Proulx doubled, Gadsby doubled and Woods notched a single. In all Midland brought five runs across the plate to make it 7-0. However Harrow did some scoring of its own notching five runs in the top of the fifth to make things a bit close... 7-5 for Midland to be exact. However, Midland got untracked again in the bottom of the same inning adding five more runs. And that's how the scoring ended. Sibley doubled. Scott Lefreniere walked. Courtemanche singled, Proulx drew a walk and Gadsby's single added five more runs for Midland and "that's all she wrote."' If there was ever a trophy handed out to the fan of the year it would have to go to Bruce Woods for his vocal support of the Midland crew. Fastball action Athenian Raiders hosted an action- packed tourney at the main diamond in Midland, Sunday. Raiders won all the marbles in the fastball classic. In this game they were down 5-0 in the first inning against Vasey Royals but went on to edge out Royals 6-5 after the dust had cleared.
