French passed away quietly at Penetanguishene General Hospital following a _ lengthy illness on Sunday July Ons oi 19, 1981. Alice French - in her 7ist year was the daughter of the late » Walter and Ann (Rit- chie) Rowley, of Flos Township. Mrs. French attended SS. number 18 elementary school in Flos, Elmvale High School and Normal School at Peterborough before beginning her 28 year ®areer as an elementary. school teacher in Elmvale and the Waverley area. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan French whom she married on September 14th, 1938. During her years in the community, Mrs. French attended and was an elder at St.John's United Church, Elmvale. She was a_ Prespretry representative and an active member of the United Church Women. She was also an active member and former president of the Centre Flos Women's Institute. Alice French is survived by her sister Ruth, (Mrs. Bob Graham), son Kenneth and two grandchildren Jeffrey and Julie. She is predeceased by sisters: Margaret, Prisilla (Mrs. Ed Callander), brothers Harvey, Howard, Bert and Harry. Funeral services for the late Alice French were held at St. John's United Church, Elmvale on Wednesday, July 22, 1981 with Rev. Sam " Henderson officiating. ye Internment, Waverley e United Cemetry. Fun-filled fund-raiser Toanche Park will be a busy place Aug. 8 when officials hold their annual Bazaar Day, things getting underway at 12 noon. There will be a dunking tank, a fish pond, a bake sale, crown and anchor, horseshoe matches and arts and crafts displays. Hot dogs and ham- burgers will be sold as part of the day's a proceedings. : To add to the day's : events will be a. ball i hockey tournament with 4 eight teams from the Penetang-Midland Senior Division Ball Hockey League com- peting, that starting at 9 a.m. In the evening, there will be a dance with the music of "Christee", the admission for that event being set at $7 per couple.
