Branch 68 ladies force quick win Penetanguishene Canadian Legion Branch 68 Intermediate Ladies Softball club forced the use of the mercy rule Wednesday night in McGuire Park in Penetanguishene as they outplayed Midland Therriens ladies by a score of 18-8. Winning pitcher in the game was_ Laurie St.Amant with six walks while Sharon Borrow took the pitching duties for Midland with five walks. Big hitters for Penetanguishene Branch 68 were C.King hitting four for five, J.Dusome, D.King, D.Ritchie, L.Hook, K.Dusome_ and C.Jackson all hitting two for two. Top' hitters for Midland were Sue Grigg and Gail Latour hitting three for three, Marilyn Morasse hitting two for three with a double and Gayle Hamelin hitting two for three. Forget Con- struction exchanged goals Monday night as the two teams tied at one goal apiece. Greg St.Amant netted the..marker for the Penguins with Ross Cousineau doing the Indusmin playing give and take soccer Midland Indusmin soccer club split its games this week, winning one 1-0 over American Hotel and dropping the other 2-0 to the Italians from Barrie. The loss came Monday night in Barrie with the Italians overpowering the Midland squad in a closely played game, running up a two goal lead over the Midland team. Midiand redeemed themselves Wednesday night in a home game at Midland Secondary School as they edged out American Hotel of Barrie by a score of 1-0. John Swales scored the goal for Midland on a pass from Gord Fleming while Mark same for M.Forget. Dock Lunch Penguins fired 35 shots on Tom Duval in net for M. Forget Construction while George Monahan had 26 shots on net where he played-for the Penguins. Losch and Andy Monroe both played outstanding soccer on defence.
