---- | Taping sessions continue Taping sessions such as this one at the Midland station of MacLean Hunter Cable Television have been going on since the beginning of the month and will end in a few days. It's all part of the Great Songwriters contest in which 28 local talents will be competing for 10 spots in the finals at Collingwood's Blue Mountain July 12. That's Darlene Grand on the screen with Frank Myers of Cable 12 television working the controls. The performances by the artists will be shown on Wednesday and Thursday nights on Cable 12 with a possible night being set aside in the future as a showcase for all the local talent. Robbie was the Off to 4-H Leadership Camp 1981 Provincial 4-H Leadership Camp is one of the best opportunities 4-H has to offer. The selection of members to attend this camp is often difficult, and such is the case in 1981. Some top 4H mem- bers in North Simcoe, applied for this op- portunity, and selection was based on a variety of factors. The objective of this program is "'to provide prospective leaders with training ex- perience which will assist them in providing effective leadership to local youth clubs and activities". The 1981 delegates to represent North Simcoe at Leadership Camp this year are: John Holt, Sunnidale Dairy Club Vet speaks to Dairy Club by Ann Louise McLean Elmvale, Ontario Elmvale Dairy Club welcomed a_ guest speaker, Dr. Tim Henshaw, at the second meeting of the year. Dr. Henshaw gave an in- formative talk on heifer raising and diseases related to animals. Members of the club also were shown two ~interesting films, one on "Simcoe County', and the other on "Eight Easy Steps to Milk a Cow"'. Later in the meeting, our club leaders, Jim Giffen and Willy Van- derWielen discussed upcoming events such as the Silver Dollar Competition, Judging Competition, and the Judging Clinic which was held at the farm of Paul Eskstien. Our next meeting will be held at the farm of Don Bell June 8, at 8 p.m. and Andy Jones, Vasey Calf Club. ; Dan Trace of the Elmvale Beef Club has been chosen as- an alternate and will also be attending Provincial Camp if the quota is extended to three members. Mr. and Mrs. Cline Rawn. attended their son Dales' graduation at Mohawk College, Hamilton on Friday. Everett Edwards is recuperating from a heart attack and is a patient in the Penetanguishene General Hospital. Charlie Saltys is in Toronto General Hospital for tests. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zymantas of Toronto have taken up per- manent residence in the subdivision. Mr. and Mrs. Roger DelMastro and Robbie nore Girls pinned _ Jeanne Webb The 4-H Achievement Night was held in the Huronia District School in Elmvale on Wednesday, May 13 - six Wyevale girls com- pleted their projects and modelled the vests they had made. They all received spoons and some their certificates for projects completed. Congrat- ulations to them. The Fall project on Cooking sounds _in- triguing: "Which Came First, The Chicken of the Egg." Congratulations to Miss Debbie Hall, daughter of Ted and Judy Hall, who has successfully completed her first year of a three year course in nursing at Georgian College in Orillia.
