Coaching clinic to be held May 27 by Don Lawrence It is becoming in- creasingly important in amateur sports to have qualified people coaching the teams young athletes are playing on. If you feel you have a place in coaching, there is a course designed to help you better un- derstand the role you have chosen. tte, National Coaching Certificaticn Program, level one clinic will be held May 27, running on Mondays and Wednesdays for two weeks at the Barrie campus of Georgian College. It is being offered by the Georgian College Continuing Education Division in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Recreation Sports and Fitness Branch and the Simcoe County Recreation Department. Registration fee for the program is $10 and that price includes a course manual the participant can keep. Instructing the course will be Waldo Hen- derson, District Supervisor of the Barrie District branch of the Ministry of Culture and Recreation and Sadi Van Beest, Programme Coordinator with the County of Simcoe Recreation Depart- ment. MSS rugby doing well Midland Secondary School's midget boys' rugby club is doing well this year, this their first season in existance. Their game Tuesday netted them a 14-0 win over the host club Bracebridge, MSS winning with three tries and one conversion. Bob Devine was responsible for MSS' conversion while Traver Gammell, Lloyd Pilon and Randy Greenlaw all got tries. MSS midgets played last night Brock High School in Parry Sound, those results will appear in this paper Friday. The home town rugby boys will be in action Monday on their home pitch against Eastview and again next Thur- sday against Brockville. There is a 2.30 p.m. start set for both of those games.
