Thev will be put in touch with Mary Mclean or Nellie Grigg, our transportation of- ficers. who will arrange transportation for them, Last vear the Midland District Unit initiated 130 trips to Toronto, involving 51 patients. Some of these people would be going to hospital for a one day check-up or treatment, others would be driven down on Monday, to stav until Friday, then to be called for and driven home. Plowing match officials meet International Plowing Match County Exhibits Committee, chaired by Gerard Moran of Flos Township, held a meeting at the Con- tinental Inn on Thur- sdav. April 2. More than 50 people representing county agriculture and services grouns attended at that time. The meeting was designed to assist groups with planning their individual exhibits for the Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Show. when it comes to the County on Sept. 29 through to Oct. 3, 1981. Max Kirk, of display and exhibits, and Bob Kalfleisch, of the audio visual section of the - Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food (OMAF), Guelph, were two resource persons who provided many ideas on the design and use of ideas and equinment. Amber Gibbons of the Toronto OMAF' office discussed colour and lettering as it would applv to organizing an exhibit. The program was co- ordinated by Marlene Werrv and Marilyn Bidgood of the agricultural offices in Alliston and Elmvale respectively. Local I.P.M. Com- mittee Chairman, Orville Hughes, of RR 2, Bradford, was among the delegates attending the meeting. We have around 15 volunteer drivers, and our transportation of- ficers cannot speak too highlv of them. A number of the members of the unit have had _ personal experience of cancer. communication when hospital or home visits are made. SCBE onside of abolition Another motion directed the board's secretary to inform the Ministry of Education that the Simcoe County Board of Education feels that the question of strapping should fall under the jurisdiction of the province's in- dividual school boards. The trustees spent some time on the issue, presenting several motions and deciding them with a recorded vote, before arriving at the final two motions. The last vote, that the question of strapping should be decided by the individual school board, was not decided by a recorded vote.
