Don Lawrence * Sports editor * The Midland Times Grand prizes were awarded Tuesday night in Knight Haven Bowling Lanes in Penetanguishene for the recent Big Brothers Bowl for Millions. Bob Contois of Penetanguishene, left received a leather travel organizer plus five provincial tickets. The big winner, however, was John Buxton of Penetanguishene, center who received 12 Provincial Lottery tickets in addition to an all- Big winners for Big Brothers expense paid trip to Toronto for two, donated by Huronia Travel in Midland, an AM/FM radio from Ted Light's TV and "Service of Penetanguishene and a toaster oven from Woolco in Midland. Buxton, who raised $600 for Big Brothers, is joined at right by Martin Prost of the local Big Brothers organization. PENETANG -- MIDLAND Quesnelle's feam tops among St. Margaret's bowlers by Don Lawrence Theresa Quesnelle's bowling team in the St. Margaret's Bowling League cemented first place Monday night in the standings at Bayshore Lanes. Quesnelle's team-mates have been working their way up through the standings in recent weeks to cap off a super season. Quesnelle's team took all three games Monday with 1,100 scores all night with one bowler missing. Those wins give Quesnelle 28 wins and 11 losses for 67 points, assuring her team of first place even if they lose all seven points this coming Monday, the last league play, scheduled for this season. Debbie Rumney's team who was in first place for most of the season are now fighting for second and are presently in a tie with Brenda Widdis with 25 wins and 14 losses for 59 points. Next week's action will decide which team will place second and which will place third. Fourth place is also being sought by several teams and it's up for grabs with. Aggie Burgess now in fourth with 21 wins and 18 losses for 50 points, June Burtch with 22 wins and 17 losses for 49 points and Rick Newman with 20 wins and 19 losses for 48 points Rick Laurin has sixth no matter what happens Monday though with 17 wins and 22 losses for 40 points but seventh could belong to either Audrev Newman with 13 wins and 26 losses for 30 points or Janet Duquette with 14 wins and 25 losses for 30 points. If neither of those teams get any points and Brenda Wright takes all seven, there could be a three-way tie for last place. Wright has 10 wins and 29 losses for 23 points Ravmond Wright made a big move Monday night as he took the men's high single and high triple from Jim Burtch who has _ held Gera? GYM CLUB Gymnastics Corne! that honour for the larger part of the season. Wright bowled a 373 single and an 842 triple. Burtch .also dropped out of the high average slot. having been tied with Fred Jackson at 206 with Jackson taking over that spot all alone. Ann Deguire's high single and high triple for ladies stayed firm at 314 and 747 while Alva Camnbell's 198 high average meant she held onto that title although she now shares it with Stella Wright. Receiving glasses for their scores Monday were Raymond Wright for his 379 high single, Rick Taylor with his 777 high triple flat, Aggie Burgess with her 335 high single and Stella Wright with her 701 high triple After this Monday's action. the league will be involved in one week' s plavoffs the following Monday.
