Sports Line... Friday The 30,000 Island Curling Bonspiel will take place in Midland Curling Club today with action getting under wav at 6 p.m. and games every two hours. There will be three draws tonight in the annual event today. An added feature of the bonspiel will be the Monte Carlo Night planned for the upstairs lounge with the proceeds going to buy sweaters, slacks and blazers for Glenn Howard, Paul Har- bottle. Midland Minor Hockev House League Plavoffs continue in Midland Centennial Arena with bantam games at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Meatland and Walkers will take the earlier' game _ with Smithmobile and Cowen Construction taking the second game. At 8:10 a.m., Midland Times and Century 21 peewee teams will play with their counterparts, Midland Police and A & W plaving at 9:05 a.m. For atoms games, Georgian Bay Real Estate and Jory's IDA will play at 10:10 a.m. and the second game in that division will see Midland IGA and A. E. LePage facing off at 11:05 a.m. O.K. Johnson and McQuirter Real Estate will play at 12 noon. In the first game Saturday, Bike Shop blanked Clarke-MacDonald 2-0, Jeff Mayer and Dale Ironside getting the goals, both unassisted. Summers Trophies came on strong in their game with Olympia Sports but the two forces met with equal strength, producing a 3-3 tie. Doug Summers popped in a pair for Summers Trophies with Sean Mcllravey getting their third goal. Greg Moreau assisted on Summers' first goal. Garv Miller was the big gun for Olympia Sports with two goals, his first assisted by Chris Irvine. Sean Lalonde scored the third goal for Olympia Sports unassisted. Kid's Stuff came up with a big win over IUE as thev downed them 6-1, Danny Sibley getting IUE's only goal unassisted.
