After the Municipal police moved back to their newly renovated offices behind the Municipal building, the Library Board decided to do some renovating themselves and so have altered the basement into a really exciting place to hold meetings again. Our first meeting of 1981 vear was held Feb. 17 and as_ previously mentioned back in our home place. There was quite a heavv agenda to get through, however we had a goodly number there and Vice- president presided in absence of President Mrs. P. Charlebois who is enjoying a _ well earned holiday in Southern climes. Guest speaker of the evening is a most en- thusiastic photographer name of Mr. Promm whose truly beautiful pictures of their visits to P.H.S. news Spain impressed evervone with their beauty and also we thrilled with the Spanish musical accompani- ment. There have been several suggestions for programs that might be interesting to the members. One is a trip to new. place near Woodbridge. Another is a museum near Milton also flower shows will be coming along. Anyone with suggestions do bring them up at regular meeting or call some other member and talk it up. It is hoped to get a news item in the local paper more frequently than some years past. Elizabeth Porter Attention being paid to Coldwater It would appear Liberals have been watching and listening. Simcoe East Liberal , Association recently opened a campaign office in Coldwater, the first time ever Grits have done so prior to a provincial election. At the same time their candidate Jack Harber says if he's elected and sent to Queen's Park to represent the riding he'll do everything in his power to improve entrances and exits to Cold- water. The issue popped up at a recent PC Association nomination meeting in Orillia where Tories' candidate Allen McLean said much the same thing. The matter come to light as a result of Cold- water Business Association putting a bit of pressure on a number of Queen's Park hopefuls. The Coldwater movement, in part, is being led by former Coldwater reeve Earl Brandon who along with a block of PCs from Coldwater and area voted for McLean who pledged his support for Coldwater and area something Harber has done as well. According to Harber the 400 extension plan around Coldwater was done with little consultation with or consideration of the local population.
