Friday Midland Athletics Intermediate A hockey club will begin a three game stint tonight in Orillia where they will play the Terriers at 8:30 p.m. Midland Centennials will be playing tonight as well in Midland Centennial Arena as they play in their first game of the semi-finals series with Parry Sound Shamrocks in Georgian Bay Jr. C hockey. That game will start at 8:30 p.m. Penetanguishene Bantams All-Stars will also be active in Base Borden in their final game of the best of th ree series with that team. The winner of that 8:30 p.m. game will go on to further series. Saturday Midland Athletics will be continuing their busy weekend _- schedule Saturday with a game against Barrie Flyers in Barrie at 8:30 p.m. Midland Curling Club will be the site of the men's club Leads and Seconds Curling Bon- Spi el and Penetanguishene Figure Skating Club will be holding their annual Ceapranslveas) in Penetanguishene Arena from two p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Starting at two p.m. at Bayshore Lanes in Midland, and Knight Haven Bowling Lanes in Penetanguishene, the Bowl for Millions Big Brothers Bowl will be held with local figures bowling a game. ESPSS girls volleyball The three _ girls' volleyball teams from Ecole Secondaire Penetanguishene Secondary School had mixed success Friday as they battled St. Theresa's High School in Midland and Midland Secondary School. ESPSS: midget girls lost theit 'match to St. Theresa's 15-13 and 15- 11 but they did win their first game against MSS 15-13. MSS came back to win the next two games though 15-11 and 15-10. ESPSS junior girls defeated St. Theresa's. two games straight but they just seemed to run out of steam when they met MSS as they gave up two very close games 15-13 and 16-14. St. Theresa's took the first and third game of their match but ESPSS took the second game 15-4. the worst beating St. Theresa's senior girls have taken in three years. : Weekend Ski Watch The following ski resorts are reporting good alpine conditions in this area: Medonte Mountain with 30-60 centimeters combination base. Horseshoe Valley with 50 centimeters combination base and Mount St. Louis with 50-80 centimeters combination base. Reporting fair to good conditions is Blue Mountain in Collingwood with a base of 80 centimeters man-made snow and 45 cen- timeters of natural snow and a trace of new natural snow. No report was available for Mountain View Ski Hills in Midland but the recent snow fall is evidence of good conditions there. For cross country, Lafontaine Ski Trails, Medonte Mountain, Horseshoe Valley, Maple Valley Ski Trails, Mountain St. Louis and Wasaga Beach Ski Trails are reporting good conditions with an average of 40-60 cen- timeters of snow on the trails at all resorts.
