See Page 46 Bayview showing movie to raise money A print of the film of the Broadway hit musical The Wiz, an updated verson of the Wizard of Oz set in Harlem with an_all- black cast, will be screened this week in Bavview School's gymnasium. Show times are Friday at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Admission is $1 per person. Refreshments will be available. The profit will help the school's drama club go. to New York City the week of April 19 to put on a production of Charlie and Alice, a version of Alice in Wonderland last per- formed by the school's drama club six year's ago. The school has been invited to take part in an international drama festival and needs to raise $6,000. There were some lired feet but smiling faces. We had a very good collection for the blind. The convener has said thanks to most of the people who participated in the editorial section of our local paper. I will have more on the matter next week. We played the games of choice and the win- ners are, Bridge-Lily Whitton and Mae Addison; Euchre- Margaret Marcelleus and Bernard Mulroy, and. Cribbage-Willy Cameron and Alvin Archer. The paintings are placed about the first floor and will be on display for several weeks. on display The display at the Library for two weeks beginning on Dec. 1 will be oil paintings and oil pastels by Agnes Markle, a member of the library staff. Also oil paintings by Harvey Markle. You are invited to come and see their work. Some new books recently received: Nuns and Soldiers by Iris Murdoch; Odd's End by Tim Wynne-Jones; Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World; Add-a-room, by Consumer Guide: Black and White and Never Right (A hockey referee) by Vern Buffey. The Library was represented at the Chamber of Commerce annual meeting by Carolyn Ostrowski, Chairman of the Library Board, and Eileen Goodburne, Chief Librarian, who were very much impressed by the day's proceedings and the setting in the Budd Watson Gallery. During Story Time on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 10:30 a.m., the Library will present a puppet show of the Nativity. This will be the last Story Time of the year. Story Time will begin in the new year on Wed., Jan. 14, 1981. The last Family Film night will be Fri., Dec. 19. Films will begin on Fri., Jan. 16, 1981.
