ep , Election '80 Platform Bev Day When I was elected to the position of alderman for Ward IJ in Midland in the last election, my platform was based on keeping taxes in line, stopping unnecessary spending and providing good representation. I have worked very hard towards achieving these goals. If re-elected to Midland council as your deputy-reeve, I shail re- dedicate myself toward these goals at both municipal and county levels. In the past two years the following are but a few of the many ac- complishments of your council through I believe to be reasonable and tolerable tax in- creases. We have opened a new industrial park. We have commenced construction of a new sewage disposal plant which is both necessary to the protection of the environment as well as future residential and commercial growth of Midland. More assessment will lower taxes. We have seen the construction of a new senior citizens' apart- ment complex on Bay Sfreet. We have improved and upgraded bus service. We have added traffic lights and safety measures toward the protection of our children. We have improved and upgraded our parks. We have upgraded and improved both police and fire depart- ments. If re-elected, I will continue to serve the citizens of Midland with dedication, common sense, sound judgment and hard work. Atleast one meeting set for candidates Elmvale residents will soon have the chance to eyeball the candidates running in this year's municipal elections, as a 'Meet the Candidates' night has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3 at the Community Hall, beginning at 8.p.m. COLOUR SUPREME II VHF-UHF-FM ANTENNA His Springstein THE RIVER DISCO LIGHT % .
