Steven Wilkins, 21, of no fixed address, was charged this week with seven counts in con- nection with the theft of three vehicles over the Thanksgiving weekend. He had been released Oct. 8 on bail after being charged with the theft of one car and the at- tempted theft of two other cars. Taken either Sunday or Monday from a Midland car dealer's lot were a $8,100 1981 station wagon and a $7.500 1981 sedan. A potato chip van was stolen from Concession 12, Tiny Township. Estimated value of the van and its contents is $4,000. Wilkins has' been charged this week with two counts of theft (of an automobile worth) over $200, two counts of theft under $200 (licence plates), and one count of wilful damage (car damaged on dealer's lot during theft) by Midland town police. Midland OPP has also laid a charge of theft of an automobile. Wilkins has also been Contract approved? Midland Parks Board recently ratified the contract that will be offered to the Parks- Arena employees for further consideration. Tendering will also begin today for a tractor to be used by the Parks Board in their clean up duties. SESE SS nea charged with break, enter and theft by Midland police. Midland town police were informed Tuesday morning that two cars were taken from the lot of Bourgeois Motors, located on Hugel Avenue, that the garage had been broken into, and that a car sitting on the lot had _ been damaged. Later Tuesday morning Midland OPP called Midland town police to report the recovery of the missing sedan on Concession 12, Tinv Township. The licence plates on the sedan were stolen from a vehicle belonging to an Olive Street, Midland resident. At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday Midland town police discovered a potato chip van stolen from Con- cession 12. Tiny Township on Manly Street near Dominion Avenue. Police Wednesday just after 6 p.m. Midland town police were told by the Bradford OPP that Bradford OPP had the missing station wagon and a driver, Wilkins. The station wagon's. licence plates were taken from a car sitting on. the Bourgeois lot. Police believe. the chain of events went like this. The sedan was taken from the car lot after keys had been obtained through the break-in of the garage. It was abandoned when it became stuck. The van was stolen next and driven to Midland and parked. Then the station wagon was taken. Wilkins is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Midland Oct. 20. His bail hearing was vesterday in Barrie.
