Felix Cappella of the Georgian Bay Road Runners Track and leads a group of runners clearing at Mountainview Ski Trails Field Club through a Bulls trampled 59-10 in Barrie exhibition BARRIE--Once in a while _ the learning process is a little gruesome, as the Midland Bulls rugger club discovered Saturday after journeying here to be unexpectedly con- fronted by some very tough teachers. The club was expecting to play an exhibition match against Barrie's second team who are roughly the same calibre as the "D"' division Bulls, but their opponents were involved in a Sudbury tournament and they faced instead Barrie's first team, who are five divisions their senior. The Bulls were trampled 59-10. Games for the Midland club are few and far between, so the exhibition match was arranged "We wanted to provide some experience for some of our younger players," Bulls' Rick Leroux said And they got it "We learned quite a bit playing some of the area's best rugger players, especially in the backfield," Leroux said. "It was_a -little dishear- tening, but still pretty valuable to us." Leroux made one try for Midland, and other Bulls' scorers were Clarke Brown, with a try, and Rick Thorpe, who kicked a conversion. Next game for the Bulls is a league match against Toronto Irish at Midland Secondary School Aug. 12 at 12:30 p.m The club and Mountainview co-sponsor the Summer Fun Run Series which is held each Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m to promote group jogging and fitness.
