Staff photo Top students are honoured at MSS Midland Secondary School students bade farewell to their teachers and school last Thursday during the annual graduation ceremony The evening started with the processional of fraduating students and the singing of O Canada The opening remarks were made by Principal W.F. Brown.Each student in. grade twelve and thirteen received a secondary school graduation diploma Special awards were given to top student--a list of the award winners follows Greg Taylor took the Principal's Award for the won the award for the level three program. The top student in year two of the level two program was Kimberley Mitchell All of the principal's awards were presented by MSS principal William Brown The Grace McMullen Scholarship went to Sheri Noack the top student in Grade 13 who studied french. The award was presented by Mr. J Dalrymple A Centennial Scholarship was awarded this year. Winners were Sheri Noack and Bruce Strathearn. The awards were presented by Mrs. C. Cardenas and Mr. D. Memorial Award was presented by Mrs. P. McCullough to Cheryl Smith and Cindy Kelly. Jan Isaac and Ronny McCullough won the Nancy Junette Niblock Memorial Award. It was presented by Mrs. Hugh Niblock. The Dr. T. J. Johnston Memorial Shield for the top student in each grade went to Clayton Truax in Grade nine, Moira Somers in Grade 10, Peter Dietz in Grade 11, Gregory Taylor in Grade 12 and Lisa Moreau_ in Grade 13. The Award of Merit Davenport Trophy went to Cheryl Smith and Robin Oakley. The award was introduced by Mr. Brown and presented by Mr. Robert Davenport. Lisa Moreau won the R.C. Gauthier Award for being the top student in Grade 13. It was presented to her by Mr. D. Chambers and Miss S. Gauthier. The Valedictorians this year were Sheri Noack and John Powell. They were introduced by Mr. D. Chambers.
