OPP reporta 'normal summer weekend' Midland OPP reports a normal summer weekend just past, responding to a total of 88 occurrences. Of these, seven were thefts, three were break and violations and there was one arrest made under the Narcotic Control Act. Police responded to 15 reportable motor vehicle enters, three were accidents, several of assaults, seven were them involving extensive incidents of willful property damage, but, damage, three were fortunately there were no impaired driving jnjuries of a serious charges, five were liquor nature. Obituaries Following too closely A Wiarton man was charged by OPP following a _ two-car collision Friday evening on Highway 69, just east of Highway 12. Charged with following too closely is Ronald Hepburn. Police say his car was eastbound on Highway 69 behind a car driven by Stanley Prouse of Lively, Ontario when the ac- cident occurred. Apparently the Prouse vehicle braked suddenly as it was approaching a line of traffic and the Hepburn car struck it from behind. Damage to both vehicles totalled $700. Two passengers in the Prouse car sustained minimal injuries. Impaired, Excess Alcohol Two cars both received $1,000 damage following an accident which oc- curred at 8:40 a.m., Saturday, at the in- tersection of Hugel Avenue and Highway 27. A car driven by Wilfred Lalonde of Penetanguishene was northbound on Highway 27 when it collided with a southbound car _ at- tempting to make a left hand turn, driven by David Bank, Midland. As a result of the ac- cident, Bank was charged with impaired driving and excess alcohol. No. injuries were reported. Host of Charges A Victoria Harbour resident faces a slate of charges in connection with an accident that took place last Wednesday in Port MeNicoll. Charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident, driving while disqualified, impaired driving, and excess alcohol is Wayne Wilson. Police say his car was northbound on Second Avenue, turning onto Wardell Street, when it struck a parked car belonging to Ralph Marks of Port MeNicoll. Police allege _ that Wilson then left the scene of the accident. His car sustained $350. The Marks _ vehicle received $450 damage. There were no injuries. Careless Driving Police say that a total of $2,000 damage resulted from a two-car collision which took place early Sunday morning on Muskoka Road 5, just west of the Macey's Bay Road cutoff. Following too closely One of the drivers of three cars involved in a collision Sunday evening at Fesserton has been charged by Midland OPP with following too closely. Charged is Ronald Nelson, Willowdale. Police say that two cars, belonging to Eliezer Magdamo of Thornhill and William Prout of Mississauga were stopped in a line of traffic when the Prout vehicle was struck from behind, causing it to collide with the Magdamo vehicle in front of it. The Magdamo vehicle sustained $50 damage, the Prout car $800 damage, and the Nelson auto $700 damage. Magdamo and Prout both sustained minimal injuries. Failing to Present Breath Sample A Halifax Nova Scotia man got an unexpected introduction to Ontario's liquor laws early Friday morning, after being involved in a two car accident on Highway 69, just south of Muskoka Road 5. Besides being charged with making an improper turn, Colin Moore was also slapped with a failing to provide a breath sample charge. According to police, the Moore car struck a car driven by Armando Tempesta, Rexdale after entering the intersection of Old Highway 103 and Highway 69. The Tempesta auto sustained $800 damage in the accident, and the Moore car received $500 damage. There were no injuries. Unsafe Left Turn Midland OPP charged a Midland man Thursday in connection with a two car collision that took place at the intersection of High- way 27 and Hugel Avenue.
