Call Contact 526-9333 Hours 9 a.m. to5 p.m. Monday toFriday (Except Holidays) The year of 1977 was a truly remarkable year in the life of Contact. Contact received its charter in 1977 and is now a registered non-profit, tax deductable organization. This in itself means a great deal to Contact. It means that Contact is a stable recognized organization of the community and is here to stay, and to serve the community with its varied and diversified information and services. Contact sponsored two very successful Sports-a- ramas during the past year. These fund raising events enabled Contact to keep their doors and lines open over a very difficult financial period. Already the plans are under way for Sports-a-rama '78 and again we anticipate this event to be a financial success for Contact but your help is also needed. Now that Contact has received a registration number it is the hope of the board that the community will support the operation of Contact by their donations, that can be deducted from their taxes. The board of directors has been a tower of strength to the staff of Contact, always ready with their support and guidance and volunteer aid and we the staff thank them. Unfortunately Contact must say goodbye to a valued member of their board, Mr. Brian Parr. Mr. Parr has been transferred by the Royal Bank to Cambellford, Ontario. Midland's loss _ is Campbellford's gain, as Mr. Parr has played a most active partin all the workings of the community and of Contact including his final position as chairman of the board. The loyal and constant support of both Brian and Patty Parr to Contact will be greatly missed. We wish them well and much happiness in all their future endeavours. The response to the question of "What to do with our used Christmas Cards" has been really great. Many people have phoned Contact with many suggestions and uses, so dear readers please drop off any used or unused cards at the offices of Contact at 605 Yonge Street, Midland and we will see they reach the people that can use them. Our sincere thanks for your help and interest. Contact has received a call this week from a gentleman that has two small children.
