Coldwater teams Tight games provide exciting hockey action Georgian Bay Midgets edged Green Machine 4-3 in Coldwater and District Minor Hockey action Monday, December 12. St. Theresa's took the best-of-three match two games to one by scores of 12-15, 15-7, 18-16. The Junior Crusaders played four games with their rivals from MSS and came away with two wins and two losses. MSS took the first contest 15-10 and St. Theresa's came back to win the second game 15- 10. MSS servers were hot in the third game and Crusaders failed to score a single point losing 15-0. They rallied again for the fourth game and won 15-7. St. Theresa's Midget girls lost their best of five series with MSS three games to two. The Midget Crusaders started off with a strong 15-1 win over their op- ponents and were close to a second win but, MSS edged them out 16-14. The third game between the two teams proved just as close but again, MSS wound up on the winning side of a 15-13 decision. Crusaders finally broke for another win in the fourth game by a score of 15-4 but MSS regained control in the final game --and won 15:9. Bay the lead until Spiers scored four minutes later. Cable Eight Midgets downed Green Machine 4- 1 in their game of Dec- vember 4. Paul Vandergeest and Perry Ritterhofser scored in the first period for Cable Eight and it wasn't until Jeff Marshall's goal in the second that Green Machine was able to reply. Bill Bird and Mike King scored twice for Cable Eight in the second period. Bantams Goals by Mark Therrian and _ Paul Sallows broke a 1-1 tie for Whalers in their game with Toros, a 3-1 win. Mike Cordona put Whalers into a tie with Toros after Brian Cadeau opened the scoring at 1:36 of the first period. Sharks scored three times shutting out the Colts, Monday December 5. Steve Galloway scored twice for Sharks and Kelly Brown managed a single point. Roger Schandlen earned the shut-out in the Sharks net. Colts came back for a 1- 1 tie with Toros Monday, December 12, George Potter gave Toros the lead for three periods until Steve Schandler scored in the third period to give Colts the tie. Bradley Myers manned the Toros net in the goaltenders duel, David Clark blocked shots for the Colts. Pee Wees In Pee Wee house league play, Leafs John Letherby broke a 1-1 tie with Canadians in the third period of their game, Thursday December 8. Steve Della Vedova scored Canadians only goal and Robert Elliot replied for Leafs in the second period. Tracy Bonneville went on a five goal rampage and beat Bruins almost by himself as Hawks easily outplayed Bruins for a 6-2 win.
