Accidents limited even with snow Despite hazardous driving conditions caused by this weekend's heavy snowfall, Midland OPP report that surprisingly few accidents occurred during the period from Friday to Sunday night However, the two types of accidents which occur most frequently and needlessly in the winter began their annual reappearance on the weekend, with a crash between a snowplow and car Saturday morning, and an auto / snowmobile mishap Saturday night In the first of these accidents, Russell Joseph Dorion of Victoria Har- bour has been charged with impaired driving and driving with an ex- cessive alcohol blood ratio, following a rear end collision with a snowplow on Highway 12, 4 kilometres east of Simcoe Road 37 OPP sources say that Dorion crashed into a snowplow being driven by Donald Peden The snowplow received $300 in damage, while the Dorion vehicle sustained $700 worth of damage Dorion was slightly injured in the accident Ski-doo auto mishap A Honey Harbour man has been charged with driving with out a headlight following an accident November 26 between a car and a snowmobile Police say that a car driven by Michael Lizotte, Honey Harbour, collided with a snowmobile belonging to Joseph Hewitt, also of Honey Harbour. The accident occurred, say police, at 5:45 p.m. on the Lily Pond Road, near Honey Harbour Besides being charged with driving without a headlight, Hewitt, the snowmobile' driver, sustained minimal in- juries in the crash Lizotte's car received damage totalling $300, while the Hewitt snowmobile sustained $75 damage $2000 Damage A single car crash which occurred November 26 at 6:30 p.m on Highway 69, just south of the MacDonald River, resulted in $2000 damage to a car driven by Eino Iksaneneksanem of Weston, Ontario Police say that Oksaneneksanen's car slid out of control while travelling northbound on Highway 69, and struck a nishings. Break enter, theft At 1:20 p.m. on November 25, George Cormack of Albion Road in Waubaushene reported that someone had broken into his cottage and stolen an antique radio. In breaking into the cottage, the thieves caused $300 damage to the outside door. The radio they stole is of a brown woodgrain construction, and has a single drawer. Any information on the radio can be directed to Constable Pete Scandlan at Midland OPP. Stolen outboard Thieves looking to next summer stole a 9.5 hor- sepower outboard motor from the cottage of Jack Beer, Concession 2, Tiny Township. Police say that Beer reported the theft on Friday, November 25, at 5:11 p.m. The motor, a _ 1976 Mercury model, was stolen from the front lawn of the Beer cottage. No injuries were reported in the crash, although the Kirkwood auto recieved $600 damage, and the Beatty car, $200. Daniel Trew, formerly of Simcoe Street in Port MeNicoll has _ been charged with arson in connection with a fire t hat occurred November 17, at the home of Roman Toutaint, Port MeNicoll. The arrest was made following an investigation into the fire by Ray Simmons, of the Ontario Fire Marshall's office.
