District news Victoria Harbour Meals on Wheels needs volunteers by Bev Juneau We have in Victoria Harbour the best selec- tion of young women in the area. So how about running for the Miss Tiny Tay Fall Fair, to be held September 15th, 16th and 17th? Each girl must be sponsored by a local establishment, must be single and between the ages of 18 and 23. It is not, however, a beauty con- test. The girls are judged on an interview, a speech given at a_ pre-dinner contest, poise, per- sonality, stage presence and appearance Let's give it a try and good luck! The new bypass is causing some con- troversy in the village: some are for and some against but only time will tell Monte Carlo night is coming up at the Legion Hall. It will be held on Saturday, September 10th it 8:00 p.m. You must be 18 years or over to attend. The Victoria Harbour Legion also holds regular dances every Friday night One very important activity in the village is Meals on Wheels, and they are desperately looking for drivers and cooks Despite the necessity for extra help, the organization is always looking for additional residents who may be interested in receiving some of the nutritious cooking from the Meals on Wheels service. Those who are interested in helping, as well as senior citizens, and those who may be confined to bed and would like to receive meals, please contact Mrs. B. Kaus at 534-7829. Guests Mr. and Mrs. Barnfield and son Doug returned home te Chateau Gai, Quebee after spending holidays with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. G. Juneau.
