The 1969 Buick of Francis Godfrey, 55 Russell St., Midland sustained $400.00 damage in a single car mishap August 5. Mr. Godfrey was travelling on Lone Pine Road in the Muskoka region when he swerved to miss a deer, crashing into a ditch. Mr. Godfrey was unhurt. No charges have been laid OPP report Collision Peter Hopper, 17, of Toronto has been charged with failing to share the roadway following a two car mishap on the 23 / 24 sideroad, Tiny. His 1972 Pontiac collided with a 1976 Datsun driven by Pauline Juneau, 38, of Port Colborne The Friday afternoon ac- cident occurred on a curve in the roadway, resulting in $200.00 damage to both cars Car 'blows' over On Sunday, August 7 James Saunders' Volkswagen literally 'blew over'. The 17 year old R.R. 3 Elmvale resident told O.P.P. that his car rolled over as a result of a freak gust of wind on Highway 27, three miles south of Wyebridge. The hefty puff resulted in $300.00 damage being done to the Saunders car Two car crash On Sunday August 7 at 1:55 a.m. a two car crash occurred at the junction of Highway 12 and Simcoe Road 23. A car driven by Luc Savoie, 53, of Georgetown collided with one driven by Elsie May Pratt, 57, of Barrie Damage to the Savoie car was $500.00, and to the Pratt auto, $350.00. The mishap is still under investigation Gas tanks stolen Gas tank thieves struck the Beausoleil Island area with vengence on the weekend. Midland 0.P.P responded to no less than nine calls involving gas tanks stolen from boats Boat recovered As a result of an in- vestigation conducted by Simcoe 0O.P.P and Midland O.P.P., James Frederick Roxburgh, 47, of no specified address has been charged with possession of stolen property. Mr. Roxburgh was found in possession of a 20 foot Starcraft boat that was stolen from the Simcoe area sometime in May, police said. Camping gear stolen Camping equipment and fishing gear valued at $250.00 was reported stolen from the boat of Bruce Acheson, 47, which was moored at South Bay Although the theft was reported August 7, police surmise that it actually occurred last month Cottage break-ins Two Cawaja Beach cottagers were the vic- tims of separate break and entries, Midland O.P.P. report. Daphne West of Sault Ste. Marie was robbed of $120.00, and Betty Butters Mississauga, reported the disappearance of $60.00.
