The Vasey Women's Institute met on June 8, at the home of Mrs. Orval Edwards with thirteen members and one visitors present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted, reports given and correspondence read. Final arrangements for the lunch to be served on June 14 for the Retarded Children's picnic were made. The motto "Be sure you're right, then go ahead, be sure you're wrong before you quit" was explained by Mrs. Ross McFarland, and she also read a poem "'Advice to Millions Who Rush Through Life." The roll call '"'Name a person in the news and tell why he or she appears there," was well answered by all. The program under the Public Relations con- venor, Mrs. Ross McFarland conducted a contest of unscrambling twelve names of Canadian cities which was won by Mrs. Olive McCleverty. A scrapbook of newspaper wedding pictures and write-ups of people in the Vasey area dating back some 25 years was shown. Also some souvenir's from England of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Mrs. Willis Reynolds reported on the District Annual and the meeting was closed by singing the Institute grace and the Queen. Lunch was served by Mrs. Gladys McLay, Miss Eleanor Edwards, Mrs. Mabel Russell and the hostess.
