Mr. and Mrs. Orval Edwards accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Whetham of Orr Lake have returned home after enjoying a trip to the East Coast during the past two weeks. The Vasey Women's Institute will meet for a icnic in the Orr Lake 1) e on July 12 at 12 noon 4 or lunch and the meeting to follow. The 'Experience '77" summer program sponsored by the Tay Township Recreation and Parks Committee commenced on Monday July 4, with the Senior camp and the Junior Camp will start on Wednesday, July 6. Gwen Faint of Toronto is spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Faint. A surprise party was held on Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards on the occasion of their fortieth wedding an- niversary with ap- proximately 37 relatives present. Janet, Madeline and Leslie Stewart of Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Stewart and Friday evening the Stewarts and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edwards attended the Stewart-Crawfort wed- ding at the Anglican church in Waverley. Mr. and Mrs. George Dupuis and Captain and Mrs. M. J. Dupuis and Kim visited with Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Clark of Claremount on Monday. Brad Jones of Waterloo spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Brian Jones and family. Mr. and Mrs. Blain Edwards and boys of Windsor are holidaying in the community this week. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Nixon and Cheryl, Mrs. Delmer Brown and Vincent all of Toronto. The Nixons also visited with Mr.-and Mrs:"Jack~ Nixon. The family of the late J. B. Brown _ gathered Sunday at Vasey with approximately sixty in attendance from Apalachin, N. Y., Garden City, Mich., Calgary, Elrose, Sask., Toronto and surrounding area. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hawke and family of Brampton and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doekes of Guelph spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards. Sonia Hawke remained for the week. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Vasey of Midland visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Vasey. Bernice Vasey of Barrie is spending this week at her home. Vasey United Church Women The Vasey United Church Women met in the church on Tuesday, June 28 with fourteen members and two visitors present. The devotions were taken by Mrs. Donna Miller, followed by a sing song of hymns. The minutes were read and adopted and reports given. It was decided to forego the Manor visit and the members to visit any time during the summer. It was also moved that the members would cater to the minor ball banquet, and a motion was made to look into buying more chairs for the Sunday School rooms. Lunch was ser- ved. H.S. ST.
