Lessons available throughout summer Sailing learned best by doing by Pat McGee Gliding along the water ina sailboat appears easy to the untrained eye. However, there are a lot of ins and outs to be learned before smooth manipulation of the boat is achieved. Bay Sailing Club kicked off the new season of sailing lessons for adults and youngsters. They are offered in Midland and Penetanguishene. Sailing is one of those subjects which is best rather than studying and this is what makes the courses enjoyable. The club has four Flipper Scows, two Sunfish and a Puffer to instruct on and most of the instruction is on the water. Some people are taking their skills and others are learning the basics for the first time. One of the first skills to be learned is how to upright a tipped boat. This way, if the boat does tip accidently the sailing students wouldn't panic but have it bobbing Those new to sailing will soon be adding words like "tacking" and 'jibing"' to their vocabulary. There are both junior and adult programs taught by four summer students, two from Camera Club executive elected Victor Denise is the newly elected President of the Midland and District Camera Club.
