Office, annual meeting by Charlotte Gerdes The Huronia Deanery Anglican Church Women held their annual meeting at St. Georges Church, Fairvalley on May 18. The theme of this meeting was "Friends in Christ'"'. Over 80 members registered. Phylis Palmer opened the meeting with a prayer and Mrs. Isobel Beard extended a _ cordial welcome to every one present on behalf of St. Georges A.C.W. Following registration, Holy Communion was conducted by Archdeacon Basil Tonks assisted by Regional Dean Rev. Allan Kirk and Rev.. Wm._ Kibblewhite. During the morning sessions greetings were brought by Mrs. Barbara Cook, Etobicoke Area Planning, and Mrs. Margaret Deaves of St. Philips Church, Weston from the A.C.W. Board of Directors, Toronto, also by Mrs. Barnes from the Muskoka Presbyterial of the United Church Women and by Mrs. Joy Rushbrook on behalf of the Eady U.C.W. The roll call was an- swered by one member from each church group giving the highlights of their year's work. Mrs. Bernice Todoroff from St. James Church, Orillia gave a talk on packing bales. In 1976 the supply room shipped 223 mission bales on the authorization of the Bishops of the assisted diocese to our shipping points in Northern parts of Alberta, Saskat- chewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Northern Quebec. The bales weigh from 70 to 90 pounds at a total cost of $56,000.00. Within the diocese social services work reached an estimated vaiue_ of $3,000.00. This work is only possible by the very generous donations sent to the supply department by A.C.W. interested persons and others. If you are not already making good use of your Dominion Store cash tapes and used 'postal stamps here is a good way to get the things you need for your churches or other needs for your groups, such as things for the supply dept. At the present moment they are in dire need of 27" flan- nelet diapers. This could be a summer project for your members to do while you are sitting out in the summer sun.
