' Dennis, Indusmin Bantams win first playoff series Midland Indusmin minor bantams defeated Collingwood twice on the weekend to win the first Ontario playoff series three games straight. In a close contested game Saturday night Midland defeated Collingwood 2-0, goalie Glen Grittani getting the shutout. Pat Brodeur, assisted by John Wright and Paul Hahn scored early in the third and "john Webb found the net Sr the insurance goal with only six minutes left in the game. On Sunda St. Theresa's St. Theresa's High School senior boys' basketball team carried an 11 point lead into the second half then watched it disappear as Pickering College stormed back to win 50-47. Pickering's big 'men, Peter King and Murvi dominated rebounds in the second 'half and led their team the 28-17 with two wins to their credit and one win to go the Indusmin Bantams came out flying. One win was an uphill battle all the way, the other was a rather easy victory as only one player showed up from the opposition. Stayner Mystics had Midland in the hole, 53-41 at half time, but were unable to hold back the Longhorns' attack in the second half as they fell 85- 67. Longhorns last game of the season was scheduled to be against Georgian College last Wednesday but only one Barrie player straggled onto the court at game time.
