Coldwater hockey OSW.Leadbetters, Beers win Game 1: OSW vs. coe bers This game sure kept the fans on the sidelines cheering. Both teams came on the ice wearing white sweaters and at 10:21 of the first period OSW changed into green sweaters. At the end of the first period the game remained a scoreless tie. Then at 19:20 of the second period Paul Webber put OSW ahead n a Steve Banks pass. Larry Friesen tied the score for Webbers at 14:30 on a pass from John Devine and Ron Lee. Paul Webber put Orillia in the lead once more with his second goal of the game from Matt Foley at 1:29. At the end of the second period the score was OSW 2, Webbers 1. George Archer scored for Webbers at 12:07 of the third period to tie the score on a pass from John Webber. John Devine put Webbers in the lead with an unassisted goal at 4:51 and Paul Webber tied the score once more and also got a hat trick on the same goal. The final score OSW 3, Webbers 3. The credit should go to the goalies Jim Langman for Webbers and Bob Anderson for OSW. Without their excellent goaltending the score could have been higher! Game 2: Leadbetters vs. Carters This was another surprising game with the boys from Carters defeating Leadbetters 4-2. Leadbetters opened the scoring at 16:42 of the first period on a goal by Dan MeVicar' from George Cronk and Brian Sopher. This was the only goal scored until 5:58 of the second period, when Brad Pipher tied the. score for Carters, unassisted. At 4:39 Brian Johnstone scored for Carters on a pass from Barry Orton to give Carters a 2-1 lead. Scott Cameron tied the score with 23 seconds left in the period on a pass from George Cronk. At 4:45 of the third period Terry Johnstone put Carters ahead 3-2 unassisted and Barry Orton scoréd the winning goal at 2:25 from Scott Galbraith and Dan Henderson. Then with just a few seconds left in the game tempers flared and Doug Peden ended up with a fighting penalty which calls for a 1 game suspension.
