Sacred Heart wins tourney Sacred Heart School in Midland came up big last week with their boys' and girls' volleyball teams taking first place in an invitational tournament. The boys' team beat Monsignor Castex School, tournament 'sponsors, 15- 6, 15-6 in the finals to win the first place trophy. The girls' team drubbed Our Lady of Lourdes from Elmvale 15- 2, 15-8 to win the girls' trophy. Hillcrest school from Owen Sound failed to make it into the finals in either division. The team has been together for only a few days and the girls had to play their first match after just stepping off the bus. They lost that game 15-0. The girls' team from Our Lady of Lourdes was the surprise of the tournament, winning two of their three games. Their performance was exceptional considering the school hasn't got a gym to practice in. The boys' didn't fare as well, losing all three of their games. But the day belonged to Sacred Heart as they showed the pose and discipline of champion teams. Midland hristmas Blessings May the feeling of peace be with you throughout this holiday season and for all of the years to come. We give you our thanks and the best wishes for a great holiday!
