A Municipal Elector May Only Vote Once The Municipal Elections Act prevents against duplicate voting by legislating that any municipal elector is allowed to vote only once, and that must be in the Ward in which he has his principal place of residence regardless of how much property he owns in other wards of the Municipality. Ownership or tenancy of land or buildings in two or more wards in a single Municipality does not permit an elector to vote in each Ward. An elector can only vote where his name is or he is entitled to be on the voters' list and his name can only be on a voters' list in the ward in which he maintains his principal place of residence.
