The Midland Bantam B's next game is this Saturday in Elmvale. Game time is 1:00 p.m. by Bryan Berriault The life you save may be mine was the in- troduction for Dr. Cles Eden of Midland who was guest speaker at the Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers monthly meeting. Resusitation was the topic of the evening as Dr. Eden explained' and demonstrated the proper way to perform mouth to mouth resusitation. Dr. Eden gave many situations where this aid could be useful if per- formed properly, such as, cardiac arrest or drowning where a person has stopped breathing. In these cases you will see a bluish colour mainly. on the lips and under the finger nails stated Dr. Eden, and the person will be very cold. After a brief summation of causes and what can be done to help a person who has stopped breathing, Dr. Eden brought out Resusi Ann, a life size model that is used in instructing first aid courses, and showed exactly what to do in an emergency; pinch the nose, tilt the head back and blow at a rate of about 12 breaths a minute. Although the subject matter was of a serious nature Dr. Eden kept the attention of the 124 men by telling of a few in- cidents that happened to him while serving in the Canadian Armed Forces in British Columbia. The odd tall tale of hunting and fishing ex- periences brought ap- plause and laughter from those present. Dr. Eden also explained some simple first aid that would help if a hunter was injured in the bush and unable to get to a doctor immediately. Anyone with a little knowledge of first aid could be very handy in just such a situation. Dr. Eden stressed the idea of taking first aid courses to get a more detailed knowledge of first aid. With 124 men present it was difficult to go into specific fields of first aid but Dr. Eden gave a general idea and hints as speech to what could be done immediately that could help a person. His speech was listened to with interest by all present and all were grateful for Dr. Eden giving up his time to help us out. The Hunters' and Anglers is holding a New Years dance at the Clubhouse on Ogdens Beach road. Admission is $10. per couple. There will also be a Turkey Shoot held on November 2ist and 28th as well as December 5th and 12th.
