There are a great many- varieties offered by an increasing number of companies. Hybrid corn should be selected first on its heat unit rating. In. North Simcoe this is around 2600. The next con- sideration is the type of hybrid. Is it a single cross, double cross, three way cross or modified cross? Single crosses are usually considered better for a grain corn system. Perhaps the next step should be a look at the Ontario Corn Committees report for 1976. In this feport information is given for each hybrid on stalk strength, moisture at harvest and acre yields. This information is collected at fourteen locations across Southern Ontario and is quite a reliable guide. The gowns are lined, boned, hand tucked and delicately trimmed with lace and fur. The men's suits are faultlessly tailored, and come complete with hose, boots, vests, and shirts. The tricorn hats are made of real felt. and the cloaks for both men and women and heavy, full .and sweeping. Nothing has _ been overlooked. At one point in the script, General Bourgoyne is required to look at his watch. His costume came complete with a chained, ormulued watch in the pocket. The uniforms of the British officers were made by the same tailor (Sheldon Kasman) who outfitted the "'soldiers" at the reconstructed Military Establishment at Penetanguishene. The play, a melodrama, is one of Shaw' s Three Plays for Puritans. ('I think"' says Shaw, "That I have always been a Puritan in my attitude toward Art." The cast is large, and gives. 23 Players an op- portunity to demonstrate their skill with the witty Shavian dialogue. There is also a large group of townspeople, young and old. Lead parts are taken by Nora Thompson, Bill McInery, Bill Hanna, Julie Noack, Erie Roth- well and Trish McCon- nell. Dick, the Devil's Disciple, is played by MclInery, who admits that although he was brought up in the other service, he knew from the first that the Devil was his natural master and friend.
