AAW « Graduate Darrell Curry, son of Mr and Mrs. Eric Curry, Wyebridge from the University of Guelph on October 8 with a Honours Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr. Curry, 23, is a graduate of Midland Secondary Selo} Needs volunteers The Mental Health Centre Volunteer Service requires volunteers to help with social recreation programs, typists befriending patients, helping the elderly, etc. The op- portunity to exercise one's democratic rights is available. Are you a hypocrite? In this day and age of computer and _ political science there appears to be few opportunities for one to express in- dependent democratic rights. The right to voluntarily engage in a community service or social service remains to be a strong component that allows our society to continue in a democratic manner. Most would agree that this right clearly illustrates our human nature and human attitude towards the free rights of every individual in our society, But, many that agree that this voluntary right is a beneficial factor in our political and social order are hypocrites when approached to volunteer. Numerous occasions have seen community agencies and institutions plead for volunteer assistance for a wide variety of services. Call Mr Gary Westgarth, Volunteer Coordinator, Penetan- guishene Mental Health Centre at 549-7431, ext. 284 Here comes the Royal by Jane Sills Home Economist North Simcoe November brings to most of us a feeling that something special is about to happen And of course it is. The Royal Winter Fair is coming. There are eight days of special entertainment and in- formation beginning Friday, November 12 and running to Saturday, November 20. There is certainly a lot to see. Visiting the Royal is your chance to wander through 27 acres of championship animals, food samples, flower shows, exciting auctions, demonstrations and activities for young people The Royal Horse Show is one of the biggest gala international sporting events of the year. Jumping teams from around the world, along with the thrilling Open Jumpers are competing for Canada's top awards. This year the RCMP Musical Ride is featured in every horse show performance The Royal is held at the Coliseum, Exhibition Place, Toronto. It is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday' through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The ladies in North Simcoe are welcome to attend a Tailoring Precourse Meeting on November 16 at 7:45 p.m. at the Westmount United Chureh in Orillia. Clothing specialists from Toronto will be there to explain the type of fabric to purchase, style of pattern needed, and how much time and work that can be expected for each person to spend on their garment. Within the time span of the course, the ladies will tailor a not- ched collar jacket. That may not sound very difficult but there is a « fantastic amount of hard work and molding in- volved with this. If you would like to enquire a little more as to what is involved; then please join us Tuesday, November 16 for more details. graduated -- Vasey news The stork was quite busy inthe community this past week | Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Edwards, Mrs. Ralph Edwards and Danny, Mrs. John Moriarty and Marilyn, and Mr. and Mrs. Mose St. Denis at- tended the Hajnik Henderson wedding in St. Catherines on Saturday.
