While a -few remain at conduct staffers the site to the Harvest Home program, a program' which © in- troduces children from grades two to six to many aspects of pioneer life, still others are joining with some of thé staffers from Ste. Marie among the Hurons to man an exhibit at the London Fall Fair in London, Ontario. The Harvest Home program, which includes ~~ Sees Making their last Everett Marshall drives the team and wagon at the Historic Naval and Military Establishments on closing day. The wagon is used to take tourists from one part of such things as spinning. dying wool, cooking and candle dipping, will run from September 20 to October 8. Still further into the winter, the staff are hoping to run a Christmas program similar to the one which was held last year. It would include an open house, sleigh riding and caroling. Over the - summer, about 9,500 people toured the Establishments, including a number of senior citizens' groups, groups from camps in the area, and one group of Japanese Bhuddists from Toronto. The season was a successful one for the members of the staff with tee ae runs of the the site to another. The Establishments closed Monday highlights -- including Toronto actress _Pauline Carey's dramatization of the diary of Anna Jameson, written during her 1837 visit to Upper Canada, the visit in early June by the members of -the 48th Highlanders Cadet Corps, the evening open house at the end of July, in- which the buildings were all lit by candles, and the march of the Establishments guard to Fort York in August. As well, the Establish- ments ran a series of walking tours of Penetanguishene, held Sunday mornings throughout August. About 70 people took advantage of the tours, with about 40 participating on one busy ' ic eft after a busy summer season Sunday. Still another successful program run at the site was the children's workshop, held in August. in which local children had a chance to ex- perience pioneer living. While 48 children registered for the program, about 65 at- tended the workshops before they were over The Establishments opened its doors May 22 in this its fourth summer of operation.
