During their visit, they came to Penetanguishene to take a cruise on the M.S. David Richard Friday afternoon, and to have dinner at the Knights of Columbus hall. The order was founded in war-torn' Kassa, Hungary, in 1940 by Sister Jda Peterfly, who is now the Superior General. Because of persecution by Nazis and communists, the women, whose pur- pose was and is to go _ out among the people and teach religion, chose to wear simple dresses rather than the traditional nun's habit. When they decided to leave Europe and come to Toronto in 1950 they chose to retain their style of dress because they felt they would be better able to communicate with people without the barrier of the traditional habit. While in Toronto they were aided in getting settled by Father Leo Austin, who arranged for their trip to the Shrine, last week, and who has been accompanying them on the Canadian portion of their trip. In 1956 they moved to Los Angeles where they established their 'com- munity. They crossed _ into Canada on their current trip at Niagara Falls last Wednesday. Since then they have visited Hamilton and Oshawa, as well as Midland, Penetanguishene and Toronto. Saturday they went sight-seeing in Toronto, and Sunday they attended a reception at St. Stephen's Church on Spadina in Toronto. Although a large number of the sisters are from California there is at least one originally from Canada and a number from places in Europe and Asia. 4 Allandale Veterinary Clinic is pleased to announce The Opening of an Elmvale Office Elmvale Sales Barn' ON HWY 92 Office Hours: Mon. to Fri. 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thurs.
