Midland German Canadians present cheque to Chamber The German Canadian Club of Midland presented the Penetanguishene » Cham- ber of Commerce with a cheque for $250 Saturday. The money represented part of the proceeds of the beerfest held as part \of the Chamber of Com- merce summerfest in early July. German Canadian Club president Peter Wedel, who presented the cheque to the chairman of the Summerfest Committee, Art Stewart, said '"'We are regarding the beer garden as a tremendous success."' He said that although the club is not specifically a service club, "'we gladly Share our profits with the community'. The club was hoping to donate something per- manent to the Chamber of Commerce, such as park benches for the water- front. However, in view of the loss the Chamber took on such free events as the water skiing and kite flying demonstrations, Wedel said he would give them the money and let them do what they want with it. These special events. which were M.C.'d_ by Charleton Heston. were held to celebrate Reinell's 50th anniversary. 'Since taking over management of the marina, Willson has made a number of changes. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Graduate Julien Lahaie of Anne Street, deciding to carry the Reinell line of boats, he has expanded the docking facilities offered by the' marina from space for 80 to 85 boats last summer to space for 175 boats this year. He said that by next year that figure will be! increased b* ther 100. Willson has also in- creased the staff from a total of- three last year. including one echanic, to four mechanics and one! other person. Penetanguishene, are pleased to announce that their son, Dennis Stephen, has successfully completed the Diploma Nursing Program at Georgian College of Applied arts and Technology in Barrie. Arthur F. Ladouceur The death occurred on July 28 'at Penetanguishene General Hospital of Arthur F. Ladouceur, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Lavina Ladouceur of Penetanguishene, he was in his 68rd year. Ladouceur was born in Penetanguishene, where he lived all his life. He leaves behind sons Murray, Roland and Patrick, all of Penetanguishene, Leo- nard, of Cornwall,. and daughters Beatrice Bonnin and Gloria Geere, of Penetanguishene, Verna Forget of Wyebridge, and Marlene Zoschke and Donna Lacroix, both of Midfand. Leona Robitaille dies July 29th The death occurred July 29, at St. Andrew's Hospital in Midland, of Leona Robitaille. Beloved wife of Celeste Robitaille of Cognashene, she died after a lengthy illness at the age of 55 years. Daughter of Alcide and Marie Leroux of Penetanguishene, she was born in _ Tiny Township and lived most of her life at Cognashene. ° She is survived by her sons Richard, Martin, Cognashene, and daughters Jeanette Beausoleil of Penetanguishene, Gloria Green of Waverley and Patsy Byers of Victoria Harbour. She also leaves behind her sisters Marjorie Birks and Mona Yule of Penetanguishene and Blanche of Toronto, and brothers Gerald, Leonard, Lloyd, Larry and Doug, all of Penetanguishene, and Allan of Capreol. She will also be remembered by 17 John and Brian, all of grandchildren.
