The queen and princesses will take events for the 26 and part in weekend of June July 4 The nominees must be 16 to 21 years of age and residents of Victoria Harbour Nominations can be handed in to Tony at the Page shop up until Saturday, June 12 at 9:00 p.m Voting will take place June 19 from 10 until 5 p.m The winner will be crowned as queen on June 26 at noon everybody. Get out and nominate and vote for your best girl Come on Vasey news Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Jones during the weekend were, Mr and Mrs Norman Stewart, Karen and Jane of Kleinburg, and Mr. and Mrs Bob Riley of Cookstown Members of the Vasey United Church have been very busy during the past few months preparing for the auction sale to be held on June 12, at 12 noon in the Vasey Community Park. During the winter months lovely homemade quilts took shape and many crafts have been made and the men have been busy gathering articles both antique and modern, and this week the aroma from community kitchens will ensure lots of baked goodies which will cer tainly contribute to the success of this project The property surrounding the church has been purchased recently and as many have probably noticed if has been cleared and levelled and the grass cut. Proceeds from the auction will be used for further renovations and im provements to the church and the property The funeral of the late Mrs. Eva McClelland of Cambridge was held at the Vasey United Church on Friday afternoon girls played games under the leadership of Brown Owl Mrs. Liz Webb, Mrs. Velma Mugford and Mrs Doreen Sajan. The mothers group under the convenship of Mrs. Isabel Foruneir, with the help of Mrs. Marlene Jackson and Mrs. Lorraine Kindy. After hotdogs the girls toasted marshmellows. The pop was kindly donated by the Com- munity Centre board. Liz Webb then handed the badges out to the girls that had earned them and the meeting was closed. Cook out The girl guides of Victoria Harbour held a Back Yard Cook Out as an out door meeting and to earn their Back Yard Cook Badge. The girls cooked Potatoes in tin foil and did hamburgers on the Hibachi. They also had beans cooked in their own cans, with mar- shmellows after and also pop donated by the community Centre board. Looking for leaders The girl guides are looking for new leaders for the fall of 1976. The only requirement is that you enjoy working with girls from the age of 10 to 14. The meetings are one night a week from 7 until 8:30 or 9 p.m. Uniforms are provided and there is a training programme if so desired. For further information contact Mrs. Shower Coleman at 534-3553.
