ARC campaign organizers "confident" -- Although final figures have yet to be tabulated, organizers of the Huronia Association for the Mentally Retarded fund-raising campaign are confident that the $25,000 goal will be met. According to campaign chairman Herb De Jong, the response from local industries, businesses, and residents has been "'very good"'. The two week long campaign, staged to raise money for a new facility for the Adult Rehabiliation Centre in Midland, wound up on Monday night. Volunteers knocked on doors in Midland, Penetanguishene, Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, and Tay and Tiny Townships -- the area served by the centre. If all goes well, construction on the new building for the centre could begin by June Architects drawings have been drawn up and the association is presently negotiating with the town of Midland to purchase a parcel of land on the east cide nf Olive Ctrant waar Blicchath Dina! details are being worked out.
