This Clinic is for all umpires, coaches, rnanagers and players, it will stress the playing rules by means of slides and a lecturer Mr. Sade Widmeyer, who is umpire in chief of the Provincial Womens Softball Association and has also a well qualified O.A.D.A. umpire. The Clinic will be held at St. Josephs School com- mencing at 7 p.m. There is no registration fee so please come out and clear up any questions you may have. House League Softball has gotten off the ground and seems to be operating very well under its new executive. Our congratulations to the executive and continued good luck. Just a short reminder to anyone who may wish to donate a small sum of money to the McGuire Park Floodlight Fund. Tim Hook was the winning pitcher. In girls' action, Burkevale scored a 16-12 win over Corpus Christi. The winning pitcher was Cathy Kaus. Bagmara Puddicombe and t Duval hit home runs fur the winners while Kathy Bidan knocked a four-bagger for Corpus Christi. 'he Burkevale public school girls and the team from St. Joseph's school battled to a 22-22 tie in Penetanguishene girls softball action last week. Louise Lepage scored a home run for St. Joseph's, while Kathy Kaus and Barb Puddicombe slammed homers for Burkevale. Burkevale public school boys softball team, led by pitcher Tim Hook on the mound, clobbered their rival St. Joseph's squad 15-7 in Penetanguishene school softball league action last week. The Penetanguishene Little N.H.L. has elected a new executive for 1976- 77 and it will be headed by President Bert Dubeau. John Gignac is the past president with Gloria Cowan filling the first vice-president's spot and Dick St. Amant taking the position of second vice- president. Verna Dusome is the secretary. The board of directors is composed of Reg McConkey, Leo Valley, Max Cowan, Gordon Byrnes, Bob Dion, Dan MacMillan, Stan Leclaire, Mike Morrow and Dave Zwicker. The senior boys put on their best showing of the year, capturing 10 first- place finishes. Jim Walsh swept the 1,500 and 3,000 meter events with Bill Pud- dicombe placing second in the 1,500 meter. John Larmand won the pole vault, long and triple-jump events and placed second in the high jump. Greg Quesnelle threw for firsts in the shot put and discus as Brian Bidan and Glen Trottier placed second in the respective events. Steve Robillard swept the hurdles while Tim Downie and Ken Mar- childon ran for second and third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 meters respectively. Brian Bidan was first in the 400 meter. Bill Puddicombe and Steve Robillard placed second and third in the 800-meter event. Gord Dusome threw the javelin for second place in that field event. Cascagnette sets record at meet by Pat Fitzgerald Penetanguishene Secondary School sent Dave Cadeau, Lloyd Cascagnette, Brent Farquhar and Vince Garrett to the Westdale track and field meet held Saturday at McMaster University in Hamilton. The team placed third overall. Individually, Lloyd Cascagnette finished first in the long jump and set a 100-meter record of 11.3 Long-distance team -- Gary Bonnin, Randy Promm, Jim Walsh and David Cadeau (kneeling) seconds. He also placed second in the 200-meter event with his own best time ever of 23.4 seconds. Dave Cadeau had a personal best time of Student to help Olympics Tom Payne, a grade 12 PSS student, will be at- tending the '76 Olympic yacht racing events at Kingston Ontario from July 12 to July 31. As an official spectator boat pilot, Tom will act as a liaison between the helmsman and the racing activities. Other top finishers were Tom Pauze in the hurdles, Dave Leblanc third in the 100 meter, Tom Pauze second in the 200 meter followed closely by Andy Lacroix, Paul Robillard second and third respectively in the 800 and 400 meters, Gary Bonnin second in high jump, Ken Tessier second in javelin, Alvin But- tineau second in shot put and discus, and finally the (4 x 100) relay team of Tom Pauze, Dave Leblanc, Paul Robillard and Lloyd Cascagnette running away with first The midget boys did just as well picking up seven first-place ribbons. Lloyd Cascagnette paced them with four firsts: in the 100 meters; high jump, shot put and a remarkable record jump of 20 feet and one-half inch in the long jump. The clinic will be conducted by Sade Breeden threw Widmeyer, Umpire in Chief of the Ontario Women's Softball Association.
