They continue their work through rain, hail or snow storm. This past winter was mainly through cold weather and lots of snow. At our January meeting it was decided to change our visits to the Mental Health Centre slightly by having Bingo one month and a games night the next month. The girls are also looking after the sundry cart for the patients Wednesday evening. When there was any spare time, the knitting needles came out and knitted slippers for both the childrens' ward at Midland and Penetanguishene Hos- pitals. The Civinettes have pledged to furnish a private room in the new Huronia District Hospital. In order to do this the Civinettes will be having a flea market at the Parkside Inn on May 22 beginning at 10 a.m. It is hoped that a good turn out will provide a good portion of the funds to fulfill our pledge. Tickets are also being sold presently on a beautiful antique "rocker. The winning ticket will be drawn the day of the flea market. Please call Pat Pause at 526-9136, Pat Tinney at 526-7269 or Mary Anne Ivens at 526- 9814 for tickets. Other activities during the winter included the making of corsages for the ladies on Clergy Night, the raffle of an afghan, and the gluing of entry bingo cards for the Civitan bingoes held each Monday and Wednesday at Parkside Inn. Cancer bandages were made at our April meeting at Gail Tinney's as well as posters to advertise the flea market. Civinettes are to canvass for the Salvation Army Blitz on May 3. Election of officers was held on April 20 to begin their term this fall. They are as follows: President Dorothy Dorion, vice- president Pat Pause, secretary June Burtch, treasurer Gail Tinney, Sgt at arms Mary Ann Ivens, Chaplain Donna Murphy, Flowers Pat Tinney.
