Butson-Dorian Cheryl Butson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Butson, of Penetanguishene, was married to David Dorian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Dorian, of Penetanguishene, on April 9th at St. Ann's Church Honored on their retirement from the Mental Health Centre in Penetanguishene Friday afternoon were (from left) Blanche Murphy, Julian Gignac, Walter Spearn, Peg Geere and Bill Geere. Mr. Spearn was the head driver at MHC after 33 years of service while Mr. Gignac was with the MHC farm for 33 years. The Junior band, composed of grades nine and ten students, played four selections so well that it was hard to believe that most of these young musicians had only been Schubert, Gordon, Corelli and Webber and then another surprise materialised in the form of a girl's choir, directed by Grade twelve student Denise Daniels. The group has been together only a very short time. They worked without music, paid close at- and always harmonious sound. It's to be hoped that this fine ensemble will continue to contribute to the PSS music program. This is music head John Coull's fifth year at PSS and in that time he has brought the senior band to a fine peak of perfection. Many of the in- strumentalists graduate this year but the musical future is bright at PSS. One has only to listen to Mr. Dressup is coming to Penetanguishene! He will appear in person, under the sponsorship of Le Centre d'Activities Francaises, on Friday, May 14. Shows will be presented at St. Ann's Parish hall at 1:30, 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Admission is one dollar. As Mr. Dressup, Ernie Coombs, star of the popular CBC children's television show now in its tenth year, will perform a live stage show designed especially for young children. On stage, as on TV, Mr. Dressup invokes the child's rich imagination to enhance his enjoyment of the show. On stage with Mr. Dressup will be his famous '"'Tickle Trunk'"', an almost-magic repository for all sorts of props and costumes. From the contents of this fantastic trunk, Mr. Dressup builds his repertoire of characters, songs, and make-believe the up-and-coming musicians in the Junior and Intermediate bands to be convinced. The Holiday Inn was home for hundreds of weight conscious ladies who represented their clubs and attended the work shops dealing with Nutrition or Branch Executives. Opening Saturday morning the girls met the National President, Joan Henry, who welcomed the girls.
